Black Velvet Whisky

Shortly after prohibition ended, a group of Canadian whisky distillers decided to pay homage to the gilded praries covering their home country’s vast expanse. Marrying golden rye and corn with crystal clear canadian water, they distilled their first batch of whisky.

Four years later, after meticulously refining the recipe and maturing the whisky in oak barrels - master distiller Jack Napier drew a glass. Reveling in the clean smooth taste, he pronounced it “Black Velvet Whisky,” a name that still epitomizes this smoothest of Canadian whiskies.

Since 1969, Ms. Black Velvet’s inviting smile and pure sophistication has embodied our whisky’s clean smooth taste. Christie Brinkley, Cybill Shepherd, Cheryl Tiegs - each became world famous as Ms. Black Velvet. And today, we’re excited to introduce Tami Donaldson as the newest Ms. Black Velvet Whiskey.
